All of the information in this article was pulled direct from the Tesla Cybertruck Owner's Manual at time of publication.

A quick overview of the Cybertruck power outlets

Later in this article, we'll get in to the details of the location of each and every power outlet in the Tesla Cybertruck. For the moment though, we wanted to share all of the options you'll have in this truck as a quick summary.

These are all of the outlets available on the Tesla Cybertruck:

  • (3) USB-C ports

  • (1) USB-A port

  • (2) Wireless phone chargers

  • (4) 120V, 20A; NEMA 5-20 outlets (standard US electrical outlets)

  • (1) 240V, 40A; NEMA 14-50 outlet (used for major applications, even charging other EV's!)

Now for the details. Where are all of these various Tesla Cybertruck power outlets located? We dug through the official Tesla Owner's manual to find out for you. We've broken it down in to two sections, interior and exterior.

Tesla Cybertruck interior power options

To simplify the explanation of all the power options, we've decided to organize this article by location within the truck. We'll be sharing the location of each outlet, what you can plug in to it, and which passengers might get the most use out of it.

Front seat outlets

The driver and front seat passenger of a Cybertruck have a few options for getting their devices juiced-up while on the go.

Tesla Cybertruck Front USB Ports

The Cybertruck features both a USB-C port and a USB-A port that are accessible from the front seats.

The USB-C port is in the center console and is a good option for plugging in a phone or another device that you might not work on the wireless charger. Personally I'll be using this for a GoPro camera, game console, or other travel companion electronic item that I can store in the console while charging. You can run a cable out of the console as well so it's not a requirement to put the charging item in the console itself!

The glovebox of the Cybertruck also has a USB-A port. While in theory this could be used for charging, that's not the intent. This is where a USB hard drive gets put. It can store all of the car's important sentry mode and dashcam footage, or you can load-in custom sound effects and other features using this secure, hidden away drive.

Tesla Cybertruck wireless charging pads

The drive and passenger each have a handy wireless charging pad built right in to the front of the center console of the truck. They lean out at a nice angle to be able to glance at the screens if necessary.

If they're anything like the chargers we've experienced in a Tesla Model Y, they should do a decent job getting your phone juiced-up quickly. The main downside though is your device might get pretty warm!

120v Cybertruck center console outlet

A first for Tesla vehicles, the Cybertruck features a few 120V standard plug outlets. The first of which is right in the center console.

Perfect for extra adapters (maybe even a USB power multi-tap for lots of devices?), a laptop, or any other high-power need item. Simply plug in and run a cable out of the console and you've got a great little plug.

Cybertruck Back seat outlets

Now for the back seat. The Cybertruck features a very spacious rear bench seat like many trucks of its size. For the passengers in the back, the truck offers three great options for keeping devices charged.

USB-C Ports (x2)

The Cybertruck has two USB-C power ports in the back of the center console, below the rear control screen. One on each side allows for passengers to plug in and give them plenty of slack in the cables to comfortably use their devices

120v center console plug

The second of two interior 120V outlets in the Cybertruck is positioned between the previously mentioned USB-C ports. This plug is perfectly positioned to plug in something like a small electric cooler for making long road trips oh so cool. It's also a simple and convenient location for a passenger to plug in a laptop for getting work done, but that's not nearly as fun as some cool sodas.

If you want to get really crazy, you might be able to plug in a game console to this outlet, and a small TV in to the other center console outlet in the front for some premium-level glamping in your Cybertruck. You may never want to go back home!

Tesla Cybertruck exterior power options

The bed of the Cybertruck, also known as the "vault" offers three outlets in one simple location near the tailgate. There's a good bit of power coming out of these plugs and that offers up a ton of utility for all kinds of Cybertruck users.

For the recreation enthusiast, these plugs are well positioned to provide the ultimate tailgating or camping experience. These can easily provide power to electric grills or cooking surfaces, coolers, blenders, all while providing power for those visiting your tailgate to get a charge on their phones. For camping, it's a great place to set up a kitchen and some lighting to keep the entire campsite bright all night.

For those using the Cybertruck for work, the 120V outlets are perfect for basic power drills and other tools. In addition, the beastly 240V, 40A outlet can get power to all kinds of heavy-duty tools including welders or plasma cutters!

And, useful for everyone, is the new-to-Tesla ability to use the Cybertruck to charge another electric vehicle! If you know someone who got stranded with a dead or low battery, you can deliver a charge anywhere you can get the Cybertruck to!

With all of that said, what does the Tesla Cybertruck have as outlets in the bed?

120V, 20A power outlets (x2)

These are the outlets everyone is used to in their home. It's important to note that the Cybertruck can only deliver 20A across BOTH of these outlets at the same time (they're on the same circuit).

These do however work independently from the 120v, 20A outlet inside the cab, so worst case scenario if you need more power than the bed can give, you've always got the interior outlets as a backup.

What will these 120V plugs power? Most things! Of course they'll easily charge up any number of your average electronic devices, but there's a ton of other useful things you can do and use these outlets to power things like:

  • Electric coolers

  • Microwaves

  • Grills & cooktops

  • Electric smokers

  • Air compressors

  • Blenders & other small kitchen appliances

240V, 40A power outlet

This is the heavy-duty outlet and delivers the most power out of any on the truck. This can deliver up to 40A of power for bigger, more powerful tools. It's also the outlet you'd use for charging-up another electric vehicle directly from the Cybertruck.

This makes the Cybertruck a great work truck for anyone needing mobile power. You could build yourself an entire cabin in the woods with the ease of having all of your normal electric power tools on hand!

Some examples of the higher-power draw items that could run off of this outlet are:

  • Plasma cutter

  • Welder

  • Very heavy-duty drills & tools

  • Travel trailers (RV trailers often have a full power hookup and you can run the entire trailer!)

  • Home power backup in event of power outage

  • A full-size electric oven! (I mean, not practical but you could!)
